The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, there was a knocking sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that a dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers and timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired the first time the failure occurred. The vehicle was not repaired currently. The contact was relating the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 (Cam Phaser Replacement); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case and notified the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
