Shortly after I bought this truck, At about 3,000miles I thought it had an exhaust leak, I took it in to Chevy and they kept it for a few days. Well they get back to me and said that the lifters had failed. They put new ones in and these too failed. Then about 2 weeks later they got back to me saying they were waiting on putting a new motor in for the truck. This is the 6.2L that is known for lifter failure. After about 2 more weeks they reached back out and had said that the truck was almost done. When I got the call to come get it, I asked when I got there what do I do when this keeps happening in the future of me owning the truck. The service guy shrugged his shoulders and said buy and extended warranty. He then proceeded to tell me to buy a chip that will delete the DFM in the truck but will void my factory warranty. Im very frustrated and worried for myself in the future with this truck. Ive already spent so much buying the truck and in a few years when my warranty expires and this happens again that will be out of my pocket.
