On this 3 row SUV, the middle row has a bench seat vs captain seats in some models. In order to let passengers in the 3rd row, you must lean the middle row end seats up. When doing this from the left side of the vehicle, the middle seat in the middle row’s seatbelt buckle falls back a little. So then when you lean the seat back after leaning it forward to let passengers in the 3rd row, the buckle gets caught up and over time, internal mechanisms inside the buckle break to where you can not fasten the seatbelt into the buckle any more. This happened while we were in a trip and had no choice but to ride back home with one passenger who didn’t have a seatbelt to wear.
