The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the ABS, the electronic brake, and the trailer brake warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the traction control service message was displayed. Additionally, the electronic parking brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where a reconfiguration of the vehicle was performed; however, the failure recurred while the contact was driving off the dealer’s parking lot. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed in the snow, the ABS and the traction control were inoperable, causing the vehicle to slide. The contact had stopped driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer informed the contact that the part would be manufactured after several part requests were received. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
