The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and shifting into drive(D) or reverse(R), the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that a transmission valve needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The contact continued to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred. Additionally, the contact stated while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed and was accelerating, the accelerator pedal traveled down and remained stuck, causing the vehicle to accelerate unintendedly to 50 MPH. The brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. A message advising to decelerate and to drive safely was displayed. The vehicle jerked while downshifting to low gear. The contact’s son shifted to neutral(N), and the accelerator pedal was no longer stuck. The contact’s son was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact’s son resumed driving; however, the failure recurred while driving. The contact’s son was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the transmission valve, six seals, bolts, and unknown parts were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that she did not feel safe driving the vehicle. The contact was in the process of trading in the vehicle.
