The DAW (Driver Attention Warning) system is obtrusive and a distraction to safe driving. The alert makes an audible ‘Beep’ and the drivers display lights up with a warning to ‘Take a break’. This alert will continue every 5 minutes if on a winding road until the car is stopped and the engine is turned off. When operating the vehicle in a safe manner keeping my eyes on the road and having the beeping and warning lights distracting me is quite the opposite of its intended purpose. In previous year models this could be turned off by the owner. This is not so with the 2024, 2025 models. This is not isolated to this vehicle but a search of the internet will find many frustrated owners all voicing their concerns. A safety alert system should not become a safety hazard. The dealer has no solution. The alert system cannot be turned off or it’s sensitivity adjusted. The manufacturer has so far not responded to my complaints.
