I was traveling on the highway at approximately 65mph at rush hour and my vehicle’s accelerator stopped working, therefore rapidly slowing down my vehicle without any messages or notifications as to why. I barely got my car to the shoulder of the highway before the accelerator became completely firm and would not allow my car to move forward any further. This happened in a span of a few seconds. Before putting my car in park, it said I needed to put it in park and depress the brake in order to shift into drive. This is the 2nd time my car has become disabled abruptly on the highway and thr first time it was taken to the jeep dealership where they said it was a fuel pump and electrical system and that my car ran out of gas without it showing I was on empty. The gauge read just short of the empty mark both times before becoming disabled but the light never came on saying I was almost out of gas.
