NHTSA has previously issued a recall on the failed LP hose on Rise/Scope vehicles 21V-755. For some reason, my vehicle/VIN was not included in the recall. Nevertheless, I experienced the identical failure described in the recall, but I take exception to the recall pointing to the tight bend in the hose being the issue. My hose is literally disintegrating for the full length of the hose. It appears that the rubber is defective. My vehicle had about 7500 miles on it and hadn’t been driven in bad weather when I experienced the leak. Photos are attached. I think NHTSA should revisit this recall and ensure that it is expanded to include all vehicles that might have this part, plus not blame the issue on the hose bend. I kept the hose and can send it for evaluation if needed. For the record, my hose leaked catastrophically when I switched on the gas, and if an ignition source was nearby, a fire certainly could have resulted from this failure.
