The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle began to hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light was illuminated and the message ‘Engine Power Reduced’ was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over and called the dealer who informed the contact that the vehicle should be towed to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where an oil change was performed, and the contact was informed to monitor the oil levels. The contact stated that the following day, the failure returned, and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The dealer performed an unknown repair, and the contact was informed that if the failure returned, the vehicle would need an engine overhaul. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 79,000.
