The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the contact discovered that the driver’s side of the vehicle was lowered and was leaning to the side. Upon inspection it was discovered that the driver’s side leaf spring hanger had detached from the frame of the vehicle due to extreme rust. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 287,000.
