While driving at approximately [XXX] on [XXX] heading northbound, the driver experienced sudden failure of the suspension/drivability of the vehicle. Immediately the driver was forced to veer over to the shoulder in front of [XXX] to inspect the vehicle. Driver noticed under the rear driver side tire, what appears to be a lower control arm/portion of the air suspension that had failed. This placed myself, passengers, and nearby vehicles/pedestrians at risk of injury or collision. The manufacturer’s service department at East Hills Jeep inspected the vehicle and a determination from the manufacturer on warranty claims likely will not come for a couple of months after the repairs are made. As a result, the repairs have been made, but there is an issue with the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning messages, lights or symptoms prior to the spontaneous failure. The car is repaired, but I am concerned for the safety of this particular VIN and like VINs based on my experience with the vehicle and the manufacturers refusal yo take accountability.
