The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH and hauling a trailer, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that after stopping to inspect the vehicle, the contact discovered that the rear driveras side wheel studs had sheared off, causing the wheel to separate from the vehicle, making the vehicle undrivable. The vehicle was later towed to the local towing facility. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 68,000.
