The system that failed is the power train. More specifically, the PTU or (Power Transfer Unit) has failed twice. The first time the failure happened, the car had 70,000 miles on the odometer. The Issue presented itself as a aœSVC 4WDa warning light on the instrument cluster, followed by a aœ4-wheel drive system unavailablea annunciation on the instrument cluster. There was a clear loss of power as a result, Sluggish response of the accelerator and shifting of gears in drive, loss of fuel economy. The issue was confirmed by the dealer. The dealer indicated there was a failure of the PTU, where its motor was locking up and PTU systems failure. The car was still under power train warranty at the time and was repaired — PTU was replaced a” After having the problem repaired and faulty PTU system replaced in March 2022 under power train warranty at 70,000 miles, the problem has come back. The problem is identical to the first time. The car currently has approximately 140,000 miles on the odometer, 70,000 miles since the PTU was replaced. Once again, I have a aœSVC 4WDa light and aœ4-wheel drive unavailablea annunciation on the instrument cluster. I brought the car to the dealer and was informed the service code was for the same issue as before, faulty PTU and PTU motor locking up. Loss of power, sluggishness shifting and in acceleration. The diagnosis is to replace the PTU This is two full PTU failures, each at 70,000 miles usage on the odometer at the time of failure. Loss of drive power and 4-wheel drive capability present a clear safety risk, entering the freeway causing a danger to myself and others with sluggish acceleration, or driving in inclement weather conditions where 4-wheel drive is necessary. Problem has been verified by the dealer on multiple occasions. I invite the full inspection of the vehicle which is in near new condition with 140,000 miles. Two failures of this same exact system with the same service code 70,000 miles apart. Part is defective and unsafe
