Power Tailgate failure. The power tailgate no longer opens and closes. There seems to be no cause for this. I have read, however, on several forums that this is a manufacturing defect and that rainwater is getting through the seal to damage the control motor. I cannot open the tailgate from outside the vehicle. This is a safety concern. There were no warnings leading up to this. I called my local Honda dealer to find out if there were any safety recalls, but there were none. I think there should be—this vehicle is only 6 years old.
