Since purchase the vehicle has had a number of electrical issues. From non functioning automatic mirrors, and memory seating, to blacking out infotainment systems to the bigger recalls. Jeep issued a recall notice early October of 2024 for the High Voltage (hybrid) battery. The recall advised customers not to charge the vehicle due to risk of fire. The hybrid feature was the main reason for purchasing this specific vehicle. With my wifes daily commute well withing the batteries capacity we were filling up at the gas station about once a month. Now being unable to charge the vehicle we were filling up more than weekly. This obviously increased the cost of ownership quite a bit. This also greatly decreased the performance of the vehicle as the electric motors provided significantly more power to the underpowered 4 cylinder gas engine. At some point I debated charging the vehicle anyway but being that my home charging area is directly below my [XXX] sons bedroom I ultimately decided against it. Brought the vehicle to the dealer in November of 24 and they refused it as no repair had been released. I tried to stay on top of things, following multiple web forums to have the most up to date information. When I knew that the fix was to be released in the first week of the new year I attempted to get ahead of it and make a service appointment. The dealer would not allow this even though I knew the fix would be available. By the time the aœfixa was formally release and I was able to call to make an appointment they were nearly 2 months out from their first available date. After Jeep ‘fixed’ the recall we have been getting intermitent ‘service hybrid electric vehcle system’ warnings on the dash board as well as random losses in power to the engine and or motor. Brought back to dealer where they acknowledged software issue but had no fix available. They determined it was ‘safe’ to dirve and had me take it back.
