The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds in inclement weather including while driving in rain or slushy snow, the tailgate inadvertently opened. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the tailgate switch needed to be replaced due to water intrusion. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
