The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle was losing motive power. The contact was able to exit the highway and stop the vehicle. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and was able to regain vehicle functionality. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the contact was not notified of the cause of the failure. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer several times and the contact was advised that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact received a postcard from the manufacturer for two manufacturer recalls for the TCM: (14M02) and Canister purge valve (24N07); however, after calling the dealer, the contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty for the manufacturer recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
