The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 55 MPH and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond immediately to the brake pedal being depressed. The contact pumped the brake pedal, and the vehicle began to slow down. The ABS, brake, and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle with caution until parking at the vehicle at the residence. The contact used a scanner to diagnose the vehicle and retrieved codes for the ABS pressure and ABS Pump Motor failure. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the VIN was not included. The local dealer was contacted however the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 126,000.
