About 1 month ago my car started dragging going up hills. The RPMs were high but the car wouldn’t accelerate. On flat surfaces it would not accelerate faster than 40 mph and smoke was coming out of the exhaust. It would not shift gears or accelerate. Firestone had my car for a week but said it could only be fixed by a Nissan dealership because it had to be flashed. I paid a little over $900 to the dealership for them to tell me they don’t know why my car won’t shift or accelerate correctly. I asked if it was the CVT and they said they didn’t know. They put Blue Devil in my engine which helped stop smoke coming out of the engine but it still dsn’t shift and RPMs stay high. My son had to take my car to work and when he got on the highway he tried to accelerate to avoid getting hit, and again, my car wouldn’t shift but the RPMs stayed high.
