The contact owns a 2017 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stationary, the gear shifter was shifted into reverse, and the rearview camera displayed a black screen with a message. There were no warning lights illuminated and a message was displayed that the rear camera was not available. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for an unknown recall for the wiring harness. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure with the rearview camera persisted. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with rearview camera failure. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with rearview camera failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered the contact to get the vehicle diagnosed at the manufacturerâs cost. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
