The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH and making a right turn, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the suspension upper knuckle joint was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to 24V840000 (STEERING); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance, and informed the contact that the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 72,476.
