The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from underneath the hood. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at various speed, the failure recurred. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to an unknown NHTSA Campaign; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
