The contact called on behalf of her son, who owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while her son was driving on the highway at 60 MPH, there was white smoke coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle lost automotive power; however, there were no warning lights illuminated. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was a coolant intrusion into the engine and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
