The contact owns a 2015 Ford Flex. The contact stated while reversing, the back-over prevention camera displayed a black screen. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact stated that occasionally the images were displayed upside down. In addition, the contact stated that occasionally the back over prevention camera failed to turn off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with back over prevention camera failure. The contact was informed that the option was to recalibrate the software or replace the back over prevention camera. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the recalibration was performed; however, the failure reoccurred. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer several times due to persistent failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed.
