The contact stated that while driving uphill at 35 MPH, the transmission struggled to shift into gear, and upon depressing the accelerator pedal the RPM became elevated, until the transmission shifted into gear allowing to vehicle to continue driving. The contact stated that the message ‘See Owners Manual’ was displayed. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the transmission control module had failed and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.
