The contact’s wife owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerk and hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. In addition, the contact stated that the transmission unexpectedly downshifted with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics and the spark plugs, sensor coils, and other various engine parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
