Fords 10R80 transmission has had known issues that are safety defeats and for years Ford has lied to me that there is nothing wrong with the 10R80 transmission. That they were ‘ Characteristic of the transmission’ to avoid fixing the problem under warranty. May 26 2023 Ford released a TSB acknowledging the known issues with the 10R80. (TSB 22-2428 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT Automatic Transmission — Harsh/Delayed Engagement And/Or Harsh/Delayed Shift — Built On Or Before 23-Dec-2022) But as Ford is aware most vehicles are out of Factory Warranty and many lost the whole year of warranty because of the lock down of 2020 ( which Ford didn’t give us credit for) so the repair was issued as a TSB then a recall to avoid paying for this repair. The repair is around $7000.00 and Ford now expects customer to pay half to all of this repair for defective and unsafe parts they failed to address when these vehicles were under factory warranty. My vehicle alone was in and out of dealership over 18 time regarding all of these transmission issues like many others. This need to be a recall not a TSB, and Ford needs to address this issues on they dime, not the consumer they lied to for years about this problem.
