The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 75-80 MPH, and the contact was in the front passenger’s side seat, the vehicle lost motive power, and the infotainment system and instrument panel turned off unexpectedly. The contact’s husband pressed the PUSH to START button, and the vehicle was able to be restarted. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving 70-75 MPH on one occasion, the vehicle shut off unintendedly. The contact exited the highway and pulled into a gas station. The contact stated that upon pressing the PUSH to START button, the vehicle restarted as needed. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving on a third occasion; however, the vehicle was able to restart independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the dealer informed the contact that the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that no assistance could be provided because the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer while the failure was occurring; however, the contact stated that the failure was occurring intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
