In August 2021, Hondaâs records indicate that the fuel pump motor recall on my 2019 Honda CR-V was completed. However, I just discovered that they falsely documented that they did it. When I have been calling and asking them to fix my recall, all they could tell me was that there is no recall under my VIN number. Thatâs because they put it in their system as already completedâ’without ever informing me. This puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because a faulty fuel pump can cause engine stalling, power loss, or complete failure while driving, which could lead to an accident. I have experienced this issue firsthandâ’my car has stalled, lost power, and completely failed while I was driving, leaving me stranded on the side of the road with my kids. I brought this issue to Hondaâs attention, but they have not provided an adequate resolution or explanation as to how this false record was created. This raises serious concerns about fraudulent recall reporting and whether other vehicles might also have unresolved safety defects despite being marked as repaired. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue to ensure the recall is properly completed and to prevent similar fraudulent practices from putting other drivers at risk.
