The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that coolant began to leak from the engine without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a leak was discovered in all of the hoses connected to the radiator. The contact had the vehicle repaired by the mechanic. Approximately a year later, the ‘Low Engine Coolant’ warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over and discovered coolant pouring out of the engine. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the expansion tank was defective and needed to be replaced. Once the mechanic began working on the vehicle, he also discovered a leak in the radiator and a defective thermostat. The contact was informed by the mechanic that there was a recall(recall unknown) placed on the vehicle; however, the contact’s vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
